Album: uYena, Pt. 2 Album by Gaba Cannal

Gaba Cannal’s uYena, Pt. 2 marks a bold expansion of his sonic landscape, weaving together raw energy and lyrical depth across five tracks. The project opens with "Sukulila [Ziyakhala Namhlanje]," a collaboration that blends Gaba’s signature intensity with the infectious rhythms of Kandybeats, Mshengu, Kabelo Sings, and Mashudu. Each verse and beat feels like a conversation, shifting between urgency and reflection as the production grounds the track in a mix of grit and melody. The chemistry between the artist and his collaborators shines, creating a sound that lingers with both immediacy and weight.

"uBufakazi" and "Yaba Ye" further cement the album’s dynamic, each track introducing fresh textures and vocal layers. The former teams Gaba with The Bless, ChubbyCheeks, and PaezSA, their collective energy driving a track that pulses with a mix of defiance and rhythm. Meanwhile, "Yaba Ye" brings in Zano and Villo Soul, their contributions adding a layer of warmth and groove that contrasts with the album’s earlier fiercer moments. The chemistry here feels organic, each guest bringing something distinct while staying true to the project’s cohesive vision.

Rounding out the set are "Savoy Gardens" and "Church Boy," two tracks that showcase Gaba’s ability to navigate different moods. "Savoy Gardens" carries a more introspective tone, its production and lyrics painting a vivid picture of place and memory. "Church Boy," meanwhile, delivers a charged, anthemic close, where Gaba’s voice cuts through the mix with raw conviction. Together, these tracks form a cohesive whole, one that balances experimentation with a deep sense of purpose, making uYena, Pt. 2 a standout in Gaba Cannal’s discography.
